The Illes Medes (in Catalan) or Ilsas Medas (in Spanish) is a wonderful small group of seven islets in the northwest Mediterranean Sea. They are situated east of the coastal town of L'Estartit.

Fairy Bower is a little inlet surounded by rocks just along the waterfront from Shelly beach. This spot is appropriate for less experienced divers due to its easy entry and exit.
The depth ranges from 7 m/22 ft to 10 m/32 ft and it can be dived all year long except in strong northeast winds or swells. Divers will have the opportunity to view numerous species of marine life, such as yellow-tail scad, blue groper, cuttlefish, moray eels, port jackson and small dusky sharks.
Note: this site can only be dived during the week due to local council regulations.
