Bordeaux is situated on the Garonne River, right in the Gironde department in southwestern France. It is a port city and the 9th largest in France. The greater Bordeaux area is called Communauté Urbaine de Bordeaux and is the fifth largest urban area in France behind Paris, Marseille, Lyon and Lille. It is the prefecture of the Gironde department and the capital of the Aquitaine region. Bordeaux is the biggest wine industry capital in France.

One other thing Bordeaux is famous about is its big skating activity. Inline skating in particular is getting very popular among skaters. An excellent place for practicing inline skating is Skate Park de Bordeaux (also known as Skate Park des Chartrons or Skate Park du Colbert).

The skate park is the largest in France with 2400 m²/25833 ft² of outdoor terrain. It is an amazing park that is divided in four parts. The first part is for kids, the second part is an urban skate-park where you can enjoy inline skating, the third part is a Cascade area suitable for BMX riders and the fourth part has two bowls.

The parks features are fantastic! In the skate park, you will meet spine, a pool, ramps, two bowls, a mini ramp, a quarter pipe, a street course, stairs, a vertical ramp and rails. All the features are made of a mixture of wood, concrete and metal. Skating enthusiasts will love this skate park, so if you live in Bordeaux or just passing by, you should try it.
