Blackwall Reach is undoubtedly one of the the best outdoor training locations in the capital city. It lies on the Swan River and offers the opportunity for climbing up to 7 m/22.9 ft height on steep and overhanging limestone cliffs. But that is not all, the most challenging route is the 3 m/9.8 ft height roof, that starts in the cave.
In addition, the easiest line through the roof, which called Splashdown, is classified as grade 18. Blackwall Reach is suitable for beginners and more experienced climbers alike. Furthermore, the ideal period for rock climbing is from September to May. Last but not least, a fall from almost anywhere on this limestone cliff will land you in river. Note to be careful of jellyfish and submerged rocks.
