Mount Kissavos or Ossa, is situated on the east side of Thessaly region, facing the amazing Tempi Vale and Mount Olympus to the north, whereas to the west the beautiful plain of Larissa. The location offers many opportunities for outdoor activities and adrenaline sports, such as hiking, canyoning and mountain biking.
There is a vast number of routes to choose from and terrain variety, according to your experience and skill level. From easy crossings on asphalt roads for beginners, to dirt roads for the more experienced bikers. It is an exciting ride mainly in rich forest with fir and beech trees. Mountain bike enthusiasts can enjoy the beauty of the valleys, the impressive alpine meadows and breathtaking views of the Aegean sea and the coast. The duration of the activity is from 3-5 hours, depending on the route and can be performed at any time of the year.
Note that, as you ascent higher on the mountain, the weather conditions are rougher with temperatures that start from -10°C/14°F in winter months, while during summer months the temperature ranges from 0°C/32°F to 20°C/ 68°F. In addition, there are companies with qualified instructors that organize tours to Mount Kissavos.
