Ice Climbing in Goat Dome Falls Climb, Wenatchee, Washington USA

Wenatchee is the largest city of Chelan County, located in North Central Washington and lies on the west side of the Columbia River. The city is also known as the Apple Capital of the world, due to the valley's many apple cultivations.

Goat Dome Falls climb is located close to the Snow Creek Wall trail, near Leavenworth Town. Once you park your car, descent towards the river and walk along the irrigation channel, until you reach the Falls. It is an easily accessible climb with six long pitches of non stop climbing.

The skill level required to climb the pitches varies from WI2 to WI3+. Some of the routes are steep with short steps and many rest points, when the most challenging ones, are more vertical with longer steep sections, some rest areas and good protection. Once you reach the top, you can descent by either rappelling from the right of a large ledge or down climb the gulley.

Goat Dome Falls is an exciting climb adventure, for both beginners and advanced ice climbing enthusiasts. Climbers should take 60m rope, eight to ten screws, long slings and ice tools with them. Always check the weather conditions before you choose this climb
