Canyoning in this region is a thrilling and unique experience, as there are many different spots that satisfy all the demands and skill levels. Kalypso Canyon nestles on the eastern slopes of Mt. Kissavos, close to Karitsa village.
Kalypso I canyon is considered by many as one of the most impressive in the whole country and a great challenge for first-timers. The entrance point is at an altitude of 700 m/2296 ft while the exit point is at 500 m/1640 ft. The site offers 6 abseils from 8 m/26.2 ft to 60 m/196.8 ft, water slides, many jumps into the crystal clear waters of the stream and a stunning natural surrounding overlooking the Aegean sea. The descend lasts about 4-6 hours and the ideal period to visit the spot is from May till late October.
A good alternative is Kalypso II canyon that accommodates less experienced participants, families and children. Note that, you should bring water, a towel and swimsuit. Kalypso Canyon combines the excitement and fun of the activity with breathtaking views of the forested slopes and the deep blue pools. So, do not miss it!!
