Cape Winelands is an area of vast vines and vineyards as the name suggests. Situated in the north east of Cape Town, it constitutes fertile green valleys, towns and villages surrounded by proud mountains. It is characterized by Mediterranean Climate and the winter rain contributes to the famous wine production which can be found in most of the world's corners.

Matroosberg Private Nature Reserve is an amazing 4×4 self -drive route, offering some challenging obstacles. The reserve covers a vast area including Matroosberg peak which stands at 2249 m/7378 ft. Driving here is an all year round activity, and an even more thrilling experience to tackle the route when it has snowed or after the rains and rattle in the mud pit!!

General configuration here is various return and circular options with a terrain mainly consisting of mountainous rock, small, loose , big solid rock. The spot is graded 2-5 and runs at a 30 km/18.7 mi.
