In Peebles lies one awesome little ski area, Spicy Run Mountain Ski Area. It is a 40 ac/0.16 km² skiable area, having all runs, easy and tough, mixed together to perfection.
These runs are served by 4 lifts that are skillfully maintained by friendly folks. The average snowfall in this area is lighter than average and is 3 ft/ 0.9 m. Experts and advanced skiers are mostly welcomed to these runs, as trails made for them cover 70% of the skiable area. The rest 30% is separated, 20% for intermediate skiers and 10% for novices.
If you are a novice, think again before you try skiing on these runs. It is better to practice somewhere else and when you are ready, slide down the most sizable vertical drop of 600 ft/182.8 m among ski resorts in a radius of 164 mi/264 km. So, come again!! The slopes can sometimes turn freaky, but if you are addicted to thrills, there is no problem!
