Rincon, also known as the surfing town, is situated in the Western Coastal Valley, west of Aguada. It is an excellent holiday destination that attracts visitors at any time of the year. Little Malibu is a sheltered reef break that provides reliable surf and the right conditions for another exciting sport, kitesurfing.
With constant winds and a vast number of kitesurfing schools, there is no doubt that Puerto Rico is a favorite location for kitesurfing in the entire Caribbean. The swell sizes usually start from 1 – 1.5 m/3 – 5 ft and hold up to 2.5 m/8 ft. The best wind direction is from the northeast and the ideal period for waves is from November through March. The average winter temperature ranges from 24-27°C/76-80°F and the average summer temperature ranges from 27-29°C/81-85°F.
In addition, waves take right directions and the best tide movement is rising and falling tides. Furthermore, the location is suitable for experienced kiters only. In summer, the wind blows offshore at 22%, in autumn it blows at 56%, in winter at 67% and in spring at 65%. Note: be careful of urchins, rocks and localism.
