Limassol offers a typical Mediterranean climate with hot and dry summers and mild rainy winters. The hot summer season starts from mid May until mid October with average high temperatures at 33 °C /91 °F and sometimes more during heatwaves, while during winter the average temperature range from 19 °C/66 °F to 30 °C /86 °F.
Curium Beach is a popular destination for visitors with a mixture of sand and rocks and took its name from the ancient Curium theater, standing on a hill above the bay. This place is great for those who enjoy riding waves and attracts many kite surfers, all year round. From May to October, the thermal onshore winds reach up to 25 knots/46.3 kph on a good day and during winter the non thermal West Atlantic winds can be very strong and reach up to 40 knots/74 kph.
Ideal for wave, free-ride as well as speed kite-surfing, the beach is suitable for intermediate and advanced surfers. The best time of the day to visit is during the afternoon hours, when the West or Southwest winds build up and the sea varies from big to choppy waves. Keep in mind that during summer, the beach is ultra crowded with swimmers, so keep your distances and kite-surf outside the designated area that is marked with red buoys.
