New Smyrna Inlet is a beautiful wide sandy beach, located on the north tip of New Smyrna Beach where surf paddle boarding is one of the most popular activities. As it is an exposed beach break, it offers a regional classic wave quality with consistent frequency that works all year round. The size of the swell, starts working from 5 ft/1.5 m and holds up to 6 ft/2 m and more, while the best swell direction is when coming from Southwest.
The bottom of the sea is sandy and the waves are hollow and fun to ride, especially during high tide. New Smyrna Inlet is suitable for indeterminate and advanced paddlers and when the hurricane season is on (between August and December), you can find some super fun waves to ride. Note that during weekends the beach is ultra crowded. Paddlers should be careful of  sharks, rip currents and jellyfish.
