Mv Alpha was a 48 m/157 ft fishing trawler, which was sunken in 2002 by the Crab Diving Center. They made it as an artificial reef just off Diani Beach and is a must do for all experienced divers!! It is a 5 minute boat ride and lies in 28 m/92 ft of water with the shallow part at of the wreck at 17 m/56 ft and average diving depths standing at 22 m/72 ft.
Soon after it was sunk, coral growth took hold of the wreck and immediately started attracting fish, making it a home for a large school of fish. Marine life expected here include large groupers, moray eels, lion-fish and scorpion fish.
