Mark Occhilupo, the famous professional surfer and world champion made Cronulla beach a famous surf spot. The beach features a long stretch of sand, extending from Boat Harbour to North Cronulla. Green Hills is an exposed beach break to the north of Wanda beach.
The spot is appropriate for all surfers. The best wind direction is from the west, southwest and the ideal swell direction is from the southeast, east.
You can explore the waves with swell sizes from 1 m-1.5 m/3 ft-5 ft and holds up to 2 m/6 ft. In summer the wind blows offshore at 29%, in autumn the wind blows at 39%, in winter at 49% and in spring at 33%. The best tide movement is falling tide and the ideal tide position is mid tide. Watch out for sharks, pollution and rips.
Note: this surf site is almost always empty. Finally, visitors can enjoy the magnificent view of the sea in one of the many cafes and restaurants that lie on the streets around the beach.
