The Monuments is the first dive site along the northern side of Kurnell national park and it is a great spot for diving. As it is located in the Kurnell National Park, you are required to pay an entry fee to the park. The site is appropriate for novice and advanced divers alike. The average depth here is at 10 m/32.8 ft and the maximum depth is at 14 m/45.9 ft.
Due to its location, visibility can be a little worse here than other diving spots around Kurnell. Water temperature is up to 21°C/69.8°F in summer and early autumn months and between 14-18°C/57.2-64.4°F in winter.
Divers are able to witness an amazing marine life with lots of weedy sea dragons amongst the kelp, giant cuttlefish, octopus, moray eel, blue groper, eagle rays, Port Jackson shark, nudibranch, yellow-tail and cat fish to name just a few. It is a crowded spot, especially during weekends. Note: be careful of boat traffic and sea urchins.
