Sailing is one of many activities that visitors can choose from. Balmoral beach hosts several options of training schools, offering courses and lessons for beginners and for more experienced sailors, who want to enjoy the beauty of the surrounding area from water. Sailors are able to admire views out to North Head, the Esplanade and Manly.
You can get involved as much as you like. You can help sail the boat or hire a captain. The best periods are in spring and autumn when weather is not too hot (20-25°C/68-77°F) and it is not too crowded. The beach is protected from the occasional swell by Middle head, which makes it easy for sailors to sail in almost all wind directions.
