Clear and warm waters in Plettenberg Bay allow for a breathtaking snorkeling experience. The spot is a marvel of colorful soft corals, sponges, anemones with an abundance of marine life. Snorkeling at this spot is an all year activity although during the winter months it is more quiet.
No experience is needed to snorkel the amazing waters with snorkeling depths standing in between 7-9 m/22- 29 ft and visibility standing between 5 m/ 16 ft. Best snorkeling months are September through to October.
Watamu Beach is located at 120 km/74 mi in the north of Mombasa and 28 km/17 mi in the south of Malindi, the nearest big town. The shoreline of this area consists of white sandy beach and offshore corals forming three bays, namely Watamu bay, Turtle bay and Blue Lagoon.
