The park is an international World Heritage site and provides the visitors with several exciting biking opportunities. Volcano Escape Road is 8 mi/12 km long (out and back), with an elevation gain at 685 ft/209 m and starts at Thurston Lava Tube. It is an easy, suitable for beginners fun ride that takes you through the lovely rain forest, with fern trees and wild pigs and it is entirely dirt surfaced. Escape Road will intersect The Crater Rim Road near the Volcano Park entrance.
