Chelan River run starts after the Chelan Hydroelectric Dam, joining the Columbia River. It is 4 mi/6.4 km long and has a class 5 difficulty level. To run the river, you must sign up with Chelan PUD.
The river can be divided into four distinct sections and each one of them is fun and fast, suitable for advanced kayak enthusiasts. It has boulder fields, swift currents, blind turns, the Throne Falls, which is a deep drop with strong turbulence and some major rapids.
