Aldinga Pinnacles (part of the Aldinga reef system but a lot closer to the shore) is one of the most impressive diving sites near Adelaide, with many rock pinnacles rising up from the sandy sea bottom. The marine life is truly extraordinary in variety and quantity.
Be prepared to see large schools of harlequins, drummers, sweeps, old wives, bullseyes, leather jackets and Blue Devils. You can access the site either from the O’ Sullivan Boat Ramp or from the Southern Part of Aldinga Beach. Average viz: 15 m/49 ft. Maximum depth: 10 m/32 ft.
Note: Do not dive in the months November to March, as the large schools of snappers traveling towards the North attract many white pointer sharks.
