The waters have the perfect temperature for scuba diving (warm during the summer and crystal clear during the winter), and are generally friendly and uncrowded.
Aldinga Drop Off (full of spectacular overhangs, crevasses and caverns) is one of the most impressive diving sites near Adelaide. The marine life is truly extraordinary in variety and quantity. Be prepared to see large schools of harlequins, drummers, sweeps, old wives, bullseyes, leather jackets, Blue Devils.
You can access the site either from the O’ Sullivan Boat Ramp or from the Southern Part of Aldinga Beach. Average viz: 20 m/65 ft. Maximum depth: 21 m/68 ft.
Note: Do not dive between the months of November to March, as the large schools of snappers traveling towards the North attract many white pointer sharks.
