The metropolitan area of Adelaide is famous for the variety and great number of diving sites it has to offer (you can visit some of the most impressive shipwrecks in the whole world here). The waters have the perfect temperature for scuba diving (warm during the summer and crystal clear during the winter), and are generally friendly and uncrowded.
The Stanvac Wreck actually represent three barges (two small and a larger one) that were purposely sunk in 1954, creating artificial reefs rich in marine life. The barges lie at 5 km/3 mi in the west of Port Stavnac. The site is addressed to advanced scuba divers. The barges cannot be penetrated, but the schools of mackerel, moonlighters and nudibranchs will definitely reward you. Access is by boat from O’Sullivan Beach boat ramp.

Built in 1873, Edithburgh Jetty is 170 m/557 ft long and 12 m/39 ft wide, and it is considered to be the most popular dive on the Yorke Peninsula, at 250 km/155 mi in the west of Adelaide, providing with unlimited scuba diving and underwater photography.

The town of Ardrossan hosts two jetties, a large one with a max depth at 15 m/49 ft and a small one with a max depth at 6 m/19 ft. The large one to the south is the grain jetty, the other provides local fishermen with a jetty fishing spot.
