The metropolitan area of Adelaide is famous for the variety and great number of diving sites it has to offer (you can visit some of the most impressive shipwrecks in the whole world here). The waters have the perfect temperature for scuba diving (warm during the summer and crystal clear during the winter), and are generally friendly and uncrowded.
Claris (also known as The Clarries), close to the West Beach in Adelaide, is actually a site with two wrecks, a 12 m/39 ft fishing trawler and an iron structure from another boat (probably a wheelhouse). The exact nature of the boats, as well as the date and cause of their sinking remain a mystery till today. The site is addressed to advanced scuba divers as there are strong currents in the area.

Aagot was a three masted square rig sailing ship built by Dobie & Company and was launched on 1 June 1882. She was wrecked on Wardang Island on October 11th, 1907.
