The beach is easily accessible and you can car park along the beach. It becomes very crowded during summer months, so your accessibility might become a problem as far as the car park possibilities are concerned. Winds, as most of the beaches in the northeast of Scotland, are constantly strong enough to satisfy even the most demanding surfer.
The main advantage of the beach is that every wind direction will give you a good swell for surfing. However the best wind direction is southerly, southeast and southwest, thus producing big waves up to 3 m/9.8 ft high. It is preferable for surfers to choose low tide as the waves break from right to left. The only matter of caution is that the seabed is very rocky, so you must be very careful on this.
Don’t expect much from the village as there is one pub, a few B&B (bed and breakfast) and a small shop.
