An Elbrus array is located north of the Greater Caucasus mountain range. The climbing route begins at Baksan Valley and passes along the southern slope of the mountain. Mount Elbrus hasn’t any technical difficulties, but it usually requires the use of ice axes and cats.
The key to success the ascent is the smooth acclimatization, the quality equipment and the good physical condition. Before climbing Elbrus, outputs will be made in the next valley at a height of 3000 m/9842 ft and training on movement techniques on ice and snow will also be conducted.
The main obstacles on the mountain are the cold, the emissions of sulfur gases, fog, the wind and the active solar radiation. The guide’s experience and right strategy will help you reach the summit under favorable conditions.
The challenge lasts about 9 days and you will attempt reaching the summit, after conquering smaller peaks first. At the descent, you use zip wires. If you fulfill the requirements and are an adventurous type, mountain climbing on Mount Elbrus is the expedition for you!
