Luquillo is a municipality, located on the northeast coast of Puerto Rico. It is well-known thanks to its extensive, sandy beaches. Luquillo Beach is one of the best public beaches in the San Juan region, providing a number of facilities and services. It is also an excellent dive spot, including free diving and night diving.
Luquillo is a shore dive with outstanding marine life, waiting for the scuba diving and snorkeling enthusiasts to explore it. Here you are able to witness a vast number of colorful corals and an abundance of tropical Caribbean and Atlantic species, such as snappers, sea turtles, moray eels, butterflyfishes, angelfishes, goatfishes, tangs, wrasses, seahorses and octopus.
The average depth of the location is 6.1 m/20 ft and the maximum depth is 30.5 m/100.1 ft. In addition, visibility is generally good and ranges from 10 m/32.8 ft to 30 m/98.4 ft. Note that the average winter temperature ranges from 24-27°C/76-80°F and the average summer temperature ranges from 27-29°C/81-85°F. Last but not least, this dive site is recommended for divers of all skill levels.
