Mount Parnitha is located in the North Athens regional unit and is the highest mountain range of Attica. Much of this densely forested mountain is designated a national park, and is a protected habitat for wild birds.
Parnitha National Park is only 35 km/21.8 mi away from the center of Athens. If you are a nature lover and mountain bike fun, this is the place to be! Blessed with exceptional natural beauty, numerous biking routes and stunning landscape views, it is not difficult to understand why it is so popular among bikers.
There is a wide variety of routes to choose from, including paved paths, forest trails and dirt roads, according to your experience level and desire for adrenaline rush. So, get some fresh air and enjoy the beauty of pine forests, natural springs and the rich fauna including birds, hares, foxes and deer. This amazing activity lasts about 2-3 hours and can be performed at any time of the year. Note that, you should bring a backpack with water, a clean t-shirt and a towel.
