Tampa is a big city located near Mexico Gulf, on the west coast of Florida. It is surrounded by two bodies of water that flow into the Gulf of Mexico, offering a subtropical climate, with hot humid days during summer and light freezes during winter.

The city is very well organized in regard to activities and recreational parks. According to Forbes magazine, it is the 5th best outdoor city in the United States. McCormick’s Cable Park is located not far from the main city, on a man-made lake, designed to offer maximum fun to wakeboarders.

The lake is 17 ac/68797 m² and the cable system pulls the riders on a clockwise rotation. The tower system is at least 8 ft/2.4 m higher than it is in other parks, allowing wake-boarders to generate more lifts and make bigger jumps on the air. There is also a narrow piece of land in the middle of the artificial lake which reduces splashing water for a smoother ride.

The lake also provides with several trails and ramps, perfect for wake-boarders of all skill levels. Because of its very updated and exciting installations, McCormick’s Cable Park is home to several wake-boarding events. Some of those are the Monster Triple Crown and the U.S. Points Chase Cables Nationals, where the best wake-boarding athletes gather to compete each other in skills and style.

This is a perfect place to enjoy the thrill of wake-boarding, learn new tricks and meet new people. No reason to wait, pack your gear and your good mood and visit the McCormick’s Cable Park playground for an adrenaline boost under the hot Tampa sun!
