One popular sport at Pinecrest Lake is bicycling. In summer there is a little shopping area, available for bicycle rentals. If you want to do casual bicycling, the community of Pinecrest makes a perfect place to explore. Traffic is mild and hills are few, making it an easy going ride.
You can also wander around campgrounds and enjoy the paved walking-bicycle trail, that runs from Pinecrest Campground through Meadowview Campground. One of the favorite trails for bicycling is Herring Creek Road Bicycle Route. Herring Creek Road is a 4 paved mi/6.4 km road, that climbs at about 1000 ft/304.8 m.
There is light traffic on the road and it passes through a shaded forest at about 6000 ft/1829 m elevation. The starting point of this ride, Herring Creek Road is about 2.5 mi/4 km beyond Strawberry on Highway 108.
