Wenatchee is the largest city of Chelan County, located in North Central Washington and lies on the west side of the Columbia River. The city is also known as the Apple Capital of the world, due to the valley's many apple cultivations.
Shot Down in Flames Route is located on Tumwater Mountain, outside Leavenworth Town, at half an hour away from Wenatchee. It is a quiet, isolated location, with a vertical crag on the ridge. The top elevation of the rock is at 3850 ft/1173 m and it is perfect for climbing from May until October.
The skill level required for this climb is grade 1, class 5,10+, not suitable for beginners. Because of the difficult approach to Shot Down In Flames Route by car, from a curvy Ranger Road, this place keeps its privacy and it is perfect, when combined with camping on a beautiful area on Tumwater Mountain.
