Mount Mastiff is located in Nason Ridge, at the eastern of Stevens Pass. The top elevation of the mountain is at 7063 ft/2152 m high and it is suitable for climbing from June to September. In order to approach the summit of the mountain, hike up the rough and steep Rock Lake Trail and when you get to Crescent Lake, walk around the Northeast side to reach the mountain’s base.
Most climbers combine this climb with Mount Howard, for a longer scrambling experience along with bushwhacking and talus crossing. Mount Mastiff can be reached in one day, but for the most adventurous climbers, this climb can be combined with overnight camping and swimming in the nearby lakes.Mount Mastiff is a popular climb providing with amazing views and incredible alpine nature. If you visit the mountain in early season, you will need an ice axe and crampons.
