The town is surrounded by Lake Wakatipu and the awe-inspiring Southern Alps, with spectacular mountains such as the Remarkables, Cecil Peak and Ben Lomond. Queenstown and the surrounding area was the setting for the legendary films Lord of the Rings and X-Men Origins.

Queenstown is the birthplace of bungee jumping (or bungy, as they love to call it here). Nevis Gorge is the place all bungee-jumping lovers should visit and experience. Here, at 439 ft/134 m above Nevis river, you will experience the highest land-based bungee jump in New Zealand.
A few meters further away you can enjoy the world’s biggest swing and be suspended at 524 ft/160 m above the canyon and the river. Enjoy the adrenaline pumping into your body when the fall changes to swing and vice verse.
