Santa Clara is situated in the central region of the island and is the capital city of the province of Villa Clara. The city boasts a monument, mausoleum and museum in honor of Ernesto Che Guevara, as here took place the final battle of the revolution in 1958. Nowadays, Santa Clara provides exciting activities and an interesting kind of fun with drag shows and concerts. If you love heights and the adrenaline rush, then Santa Clara will be your favorite paragliding location.
Once in the air, you can admire stunning views of the landscape. The spot takes almost any wind direction, but the ideal wind directions are from the northeast, east and southeast. The landing point is found at 22°14’23” (22.24)N; 79°47’24” (79.79)W, at an elevation of 193 m/633 ft.
In addition, the best time to visit the site is during spring and early summer months. It is not recommended to fly over the city, you should better follow the highway. Last but not least, Santa Clara is suitable for more experienced pilots!
