Sandy (officially known as Sandy City) is a well-known city in Salt Lake County, Utah, United States. It is the sixth largest city in Utah and a suburb of Salt Lake City. The amazing Sandy city hosts the South Towne Center shopping mall, the Southtowne Exposition Center and the Jordan Commons entertainment and dining complex. So, if you get there, don't miss the opportunity to spend quality time in these places.

Another point in favor of this city, is the fact that it has a wide range of paragliding sites. So, whether you are local or coming from a foreign country, Point of the Mountain is located 25 minutes (24 mi/40 km) far from the Salt Lake City International Airport and is the best place to practice paragliding.

The Salt Lake City International Airport, where your activity will take place is located 5 mi/8 km northwest of downtown Salt Lake City. Sandy City has an abundance of paragliding schools with qualified instructors and most of all breathtaking views of the mountain. Before you start your adventure, you will have a short training in order to get familiar with the paragliding experience. Just get ready to feel the ultimate freedom, flying over spectacular terrain. The ridge is 300 ft/91 m high and about a half mile long. In good days you will be able to reach at 500 ft/152 m above the ground and immerse yourself for hours.

For a better experience, you need south wind, which usually blows every morning. Because of its popularity the spot is overcrowded, especially on week days. So, if you want to avoid the crowd, it will be better to experience your activity on Saturday. The spot is addressed to all levels of ability and the peak season is from April to October.
