One of the biggest ski resorts near Queenstown is Snow Park NZ at 55 km/34 mi towards Northeast. The site is open from mid June to early October and offers a great variety of facilities. Snow Park is not the traditional ski resort however. It is considered as a freestyle terrain with a great number of rails, jumps, box runs and half-pipes, and consists one of the most popular destinations for the freestyle skier.
