Mornington Peninsula lies to the southeast of Melbourne, Victoria’s capital city. It is surrounded by Western Port to the east and Port Phillips to the west. Water temperature is up to 19°C/66.2°F in summer and early autumn months and between 15°C/59°F in winter. The site is suitable for all divers. In addition, divers are able to see sea horses, crabs, goat fish, juvenile fish, squid, seadragons, leatherjackets and other fish. If you are lucky, you may come across local seals. Note: watch out for fishing lines, as it is also a popular fishing spot.

The spot was originally owned by Aristotle Onassis, a prominent Greek shipping magnate. After the movie, the famous actor fell in love with this miniature bay and bought it from Onassis.

Midway Reef, also know as Dee Why Wide, consists of a wall that starts at 22 m/72 ft and drops to 36 m/118 ft.
