Cape Solander, also known as Ours or Kurnell Secrets, is a very popular spot among surf enthusiasts. This spot is a reef break and when it works, it offers a premium wave and one of the largest and cleanest swells in Sydney.
The best wind direction is from the west, southwest and the ideal swell direction is from the southeast, east. Surfers can explore the waves with swell sizes from 1 m-1.5 m/3 ft-5 ft and holds up to 3 m/10 ft.
The best tide movement is rising and falling tides and the ideal tide position is mid and high tide. The spot is appropriate for experienced surfers only. In summer the wind blows offshore at 14%, in autumn the wind blows at 18%, in winter at 16% and in spring at 16%.
Watch out for sharks and rocks. Finally, as the Cape Solander is located in the Kurnell National Park, you are required to pay an entry fee to the park.
