If you want to feel the explosion of adrenaline, then you should visit Sintra’s beaches, which provide the right conditions for surfing any time of the year. If you want to push the high tide, the praia da Macas is the right choice.

This beach is less crowded and the wind is not dangerous. It’s a beach break with rocks and sand in the middle. The waves have right and left direction. During summer, waves are good for surfing with swell size often around 4 to 6.5 ft (1.3- 2 m). The winds are light enough and blows offshore 7% of the time. During autumn, waves swell size is around 4 to 6.5 ft (1.3- 2 m) but they can reach 6.5 to 10 ft (2- 3 m) and wind blows offshore 27%. In winter, the waves swell size is around 6.5 to 10 ft (2- 3 m) and the wind blows offshore 35%. In spring, waves swell size is from 4 to 10 ft (1.3- 3 m) and wind blows offshore 22%.
