Pinnacle Mountain is located in the Chelan Mountains and is one of the highest peaks of Washington State. The top elevation of the mountain is at 8400 ft/2560 m high and is suitable for climbing, from Spring to late Fall. In order to approach Pinnacle Mountain, hike the Entiat River Trail for a few miles, until you reach Snow Brushy Trail that junctions off to the right.
Follow this trail until you reach Borealis Pass route. The mountain has two faces. A steep west side and a craggy east side. The route leading climbers to the summit is from the north ridge, offering some good scrambling conditions, suitable for intermediate and advanced climbers, with good physical condition. Once you reach the top, you will not find glaciers surrounding the peak but a decaying peace of ice on the east side.
You can admire fantastic views of the alpine scenery and the mountains around. Pinnacle Peak can be reached in one day, but for the most adventurous climbers, it can be done as a two days trip or more, if combined with climbing the surrounding summits.
