La Molina is a ski resort in the municipality of Alp in Girona. The temperature is about 1 to 17°C/33.80 to 62.60°F throughout the year, with February being the coldest and August the warmest month. There are 15 total lifts like cable cars, chairs, baby and drag lifts. The first lift is at 1700 m/5577 ft and the top lift at 2445 m/8021 ft. The vertical drop is 875 m/2870 ft with 40 km/25 mi of total ride area. The artificial snow-making coverage is at 42%. Among the available tracks, 50% are green tracks, 39% are red and 11% black.
At the resort there has been held the FIS Snowboarding World Championships 2011. It’s a meeting point for many snowboarders across Europe, due its incredible super-pipe at Alabaus snow-park and nice slopes, descending the mountain.
Having more than half tracks being easy and very easy, it’s the perfect spot for beginners. As for the advanced snowboarders, they will find about 17 difficult and 7 very difficult tracks.
