Kariwak Reef is situated in Store Bay and it is considered to be an excellent dive site for PADI training and novice divers.
The spot can be dived either from the beach at Store Bay or from a boat. Divers can encounter many varieties of fish, such as electric rays, moray eels, angel fish, southern stingray, scorpion fish, barracudas and parrotfish. Hawksbill turtles are also frequently seen. The average depth is 11 m/36.1 ft and the maximum depth is 14 m/45.9 ft. In addition, visibility is good, due to the absence of currents and varies from 10 m/32.8 ft to 30 m/98.4 ft.
Kariwak Reef is also a great location for night diving, as it caters a spectacular variety of nocturnal marine life. Finally, it is advisable not to walk on the reefs or touch the coral formations. Note: be careful of boat traffic.
