Pemba is a port town in Mozambique and the capital of the Cabo Delgado Province. It lies on a peninsula in Pemba Bay, which is the third-largest natural bay in the world. It is a long and wide beach with fantastic white sand and amazing clear blue waters. It is located at the south end of the island and it is very popular among windsurfers and kiters. The ideal time for kitesurfing here is from December through April, when constant winds blow between 12 to 20 knots/22.2 to 37 kph. The site accommodates practitioners of all experience levels. The ideal period for beginners and intermediate kiters is from August to December, at low tide, as the water is very smooth and shallow. You can kitesurf with winds blowing from the east and northeast.
Note that there is an entry charge to access the spot, but it’s worth the money. Finally, the location offers a number of facilities, including showers, bathrooms and parking.
