Rincon, also known as the surfing town, is situated in the Western Coastal Valley, west of Aguada. It is an excellent holiday destination that attracts visitors at any time of the year. Tres Palmas is a reef break that is very popular not only for its scenic beauty, but also for the variety of watersports on offer. Stand up paddling is among the favorite activities here, especially from November through March.
The average winter temperature ranges from 24-27°C/76-80°F and the average summer temperature ranges from 27-29°C/81-85°F. The sport is appropriate for experienced practitioners only, as the swell sizes can hold up to 5 m/16 ft. Offshore winds blow from the southeast, east and the ideal swell direction is from the west and northwest. In addition, waves take right directions and the ideal tide position is low and mid tide.
It should be noted that the seabed is sandy with few sharp rocks, so be careful. Last but not least, there are many surf schools and shops in a short distance drive from the site, in case you need to take lessons or brush up your skills. Note: be careful of urchins and rocks.
