La Bomba is a very popular surf spot, especially for those seeking big waves, as the swell sizes usually start from 1 m-1.5 m/3 ft-5 ft and can hold up to 4 m/ 12 ft. La Bomba is located east of San Juan, the capital city of Puerto Rico and near Sheraton surf site.
It provides very consistent surf and is appropriate for surfers of all levels. In addition, the optimum wind direction is from the north and south and the ideal swell direction is from the north. Furthermore, the best tide position is mid and high tide and the best tide movement is rising tide. La Bomba offers both left and right hand waves and it is great to surf with mid and high tide.
If you hate beach crowds, then you should visit this place on weekdays. Last but not least, the spot provides a number of facilities, including parking and toilets. Note: be careful of sharks, rocks, urchins and rips.
