Chalkida is located in Euboea, in Greece. It's the main town of this beautiful island. It's located on the strait of Euripus at its narrowest point. The origin of the name of Chalkida has been taken by the mines of copper, which was thrived in the near area.

The most important distinctive features of Chalkida is the marbelous castle of  Karababa, at the hill of Kanithos and the bridge of Evripos.

The direction of the water changes every six hours, with an intermediate stagnation for one hour. The bridge opens up when the water of tide brings the water upstream. Inside the old bridge, there is a nice cafeteria. Enjoy the view, clean up your mind and leave everything behind you. If you like the bridges, then you can visit the new one, which unite the city of Chalkida with the Greek mainland.
