County Cork is situated in the South-West Region of Ireland and it is the largest of all Irish counties. The climate is tropical wet, but during summer is very windy and dry, ideal for water sports. Jaws beach is not recommended for beginners, only for very experienced of professional surfers. It offers a totally epic wave quality with regular frequency and it is very fast and very powerful. The wind direction is coming from the south and the size of the swell starts working at over 3.5 m/12 ft and holds up to 5 m/16 ft and over.
The sea is reef coral and because it is considered to be an extreme spot for surfers, during weekends it is usually empty. Surfers should be careful of rip currents, sharks and rocks.
