El Ejido is the starting point of many hiking trails for the nearby mountains. Favorite destinations are Dalias, Barriada Carcauz and Felix. By the seaside visit nearby Puente del Rio and Roquetas de Mar. A famous spot is the natural park Entinas – Sabinar.

A mediterranean ecosystem with combination of four biotopes. Sandy beaches, dune systems set by sea scrub, ponds area and salt beaches. There is a variety of flora like tamarisk, Phoenician juniper and mastic, making an ideal hiking destination with natural trails.

You will be amazed by the huge  seabird variety such as the slended billed with yellow legs gulls. You will also meet weasels, rabbits, hedgehogs and snakes. There are two entering points to the park, from Almerimar and Roquetas, making it a nice trip from one municipality to the other.
