Sunday the 20th of December has been set as the day that the snowboarders of the world will unite in celebration for the World Snowboard Day! This global snowboard celebration has become a tradition for all snow sports enthusiasts around the world.

The World Snowboard Day is a one day event, run by riders for riders, offering the opportunity to the general public to come in touch with snowboard and to try all sorts of snowboard related activities all for free! Contests, gear tests, free snowboard lessons, meet with professional snowboarders, film screenings, music and many other fun activities are organized all over the globe by the international snowboard community, in order to promote their favorite sport and attract more people to it.

What’s happening this year:

This year is the 10th birthday of the World Snowboard Day, so the organizers are really giving it their all to make it an unforgettable one. With the support of international organizations like Outdoor Sports Valley (OSV) and the World Snowboard Federation and Oz Conseil in Europe, the SnowSports Industries America (SIA) in North America and the CorePower Asia in Asia, this year the event is set to be bigger than ever.

31 events in 15 countries are already scheduled to take place on the 20th of December in this global snowboard celebration. From the USA to Russia, from Brazil to Switzerland and from Peru to Turkey, snowboarders of the world will unite to celebrate their love and promote their sport to even more with Free Lessons, free-style demonstrations, lots music and of course lots of fun in the snow!

World Snowboard Day

This years event is represented throughout the three continents that have most contributed to the project’s success since 2006 when it started, by three legends of the sport from the America, Europe and Asia. Free-spirit and free-rider Rob Kingwill will be representing America. Gian Simmen, Olympic halfpipe gold medalist was more than happy to represent Europe and last but not the least, the sport’s legend and trailblazer Wang Lei will represent the world’s larger continent, Asia.
