Playa de Patos also known as El Pico is an exposed beach and reef break that is very popular among surf and kitesurf lovers, providing excellent waves at high tide. It is located approximately 15.8 km/9.8 mi away from Vigo, close to the famous beach Playa America.
The spot welcomes intermediate and advanced kiters in spring and summer months. In addition, offshore winds blow from the south, southwest and the ideal swell direction is from the northwest. Note that, the swell size starts from 1 m-1.5 m/3 ft-5 ft and holds up to 5 m/16 ft. Finally, apart from the city’s great choice of beaches, you should definitely visit its old quarter with the interesting buildings and beautiful plazas from the medieval period.
