The wind blows from the west and creates a very pleasant and typical for small closed sea breeze. This breeze creates the necessary wind, at around 20 knots/37 kph, for riding the waves. The use of kite is allowed only in the southern part of the bay. Lately, a local tax fee law for using the kite beach (approximately 10 TRY/5 dollars/4Euro) has been introduced.
Gökova is becoming a top training spot for many professionals’ kiters. Every year a lot of kite passionate visits the bay for truly exciting rides. The area is family friendly as well for the joy of the future aspiring riders!
