Newquay is a famous destination for kite-surfing. One of the busiest beaches is Fistral beach. The beach is located next to Newquay and it provides all the appropriate accommodation and equipment that someone needs during his/her visit on the spot.

The beach is crowded during summer period but you may find less people the rest of the year. It is recommended to visit during non lifeguard hours. All kind of practitioners can use the beach, regardless the level of difficulty, from beginners to more advanced kite-surfers.

However when winds are in a south-west or west direction, kite-surfing can become dangerous as the wind can drive you towards the rocks of Little Fistral. Medium to low wind is recommended for safer kite-surfing.

Within few kilometers away, another beach called Watergate Bay is for many practitioners an alternative location for kite-surfing. It offers the possibility for kite-surfers to practice with any wind direction, suitable for both left and right-hand practitioners.

The best spot on the beach is in front of the Beach Hut, since the width of the beach is greater when strong wind is also observed on spot.
